  1. Insults from ignorant people can and should be ignored. They have no validity and are mere projections by them having nothing to do with you.

  3. We labels things we don't understand in order to be able to get closer to an understanding. Offensive or or not is irrelevant. When we face something different, it is part of the investigation process to describe what we see. Once we understand it, something else will grab our attention.

As I see it, the 'civilized' Western society has a lot of self-made luxury issues. People are never satisfied, but keep highlighting something, which could 'improve' is some way. No matter how ridiculous the sentiment, it is forced as a 'right'.
I work for the Cambodian government. One of my areas is womens rights. But behind the scenes of Cambodia, it is actually the women who control the country. The males are simply front-figures, speaking the words of the women. There is domestic violence here, but performed by women, who treat men as a form of work-animals.
It is not spoken of by either the males or females, but is kept quiet. Somehow both benefit from the arrangement. For example, men get a higher salary than women, but the culture demands that the man gives the salary to the wife. So no matter what, the women control the finances and therefore has no reason to make any problems, like the Western women has that need.
There are many ways to gain control in society. The Khmer women has done it for hundreds of years.
